The painting season of 2018 - 2019 started tonight at CafeOp2 in Almere with the Italian model Emma. I had hoped I would do more outdoor paintings, but that did not happen.

I attended this session once before when I painted Fiorella.  It is Karmen Richardson arranging these sessions at CafeOp2. To participate, you have to go to the site of Karmen Art4FunClub.eu. Karmen always start with short stands. I started drawing with a pen with the face of the model towards me. She has a kind of masculine femininity. It is tough to explain. It reminded me of several times when I painted Italian models. Seven years ago I painted Federika, and she was beautiful, but she also had this masculine look.

The model started the evening in a red dress. After the break, she had switched to a green dress.

I had bought a lamp to light up my work area, and that was good. It was less enjoyable that the batteries were running out.
