JENS MALMGREN I create.

March 10 2019

It is Sunday 10 March 2019, and I am on my way to a life painting session in Amsterdam. It is pouring this morning. The train is jam-packed, but I got a seat with a tray, so I am fine really.

This year has started very busily. On new years eve, I finalized the drawings of the lots for our house and the neighbors and from that moment I worked on the development plan of the lot. Last week we received the message that the plan was accepted.

On March 18 we will sign our preliminary agreement with the municipality for the development of the lot. The creation of the road society is progressing steadily as well, but I am not involved in that. Well rather than we received the draft statutory for the association. I analyzed it carefully and submitted our findings. I don’t have high hopes that our findings will be accepted. Such is life I suppose, you win some and lose some.

I made an animation of the future lot. The idea for the animation came from rendering the 3D model in Fusion 360. I got frustrated with the capabilities of the rendering, so I went searching for alternatives. I found a program called Blender. It could change the camera and the light source. It was even possible to animate with Blender, so I tried to create a short animation. It was a film of 50 seconds, and to this, I made a little tune in FL Studio. Great fun.

Today the model was Helen. I painted a portrait of her a really long time ago. The artists today were Floor, Chef, Irene, Saskia, Lydia, and me. I got to paint Helen from the front with an exciting light coming from the side.

It rained today. The model came with wet hair, and she kept the damp look throughout the session. The last time I went painting was on the 10 of February, which is one month ago.

On the way to the studio, I could see people carrying signs with climate defense messages. We are living in an interesting time.

I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.

Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
