Kaliopi on March 24 of 2019
It is Sunday 24 of March 2019, and I am on my regular intercity train to Amsterdam for a live painting session at studio De Stoker at Witte de With street 124 in Amsterdam.
The weather is slightly overcast today, but there is no precipitation
Last Monday we went to the municipality to sign the preliminary agreement for the lot. I got to sign the document with really cheap pens with sharp edges and since I am left-handed my signature became ugly but who cares. Well me apparently.
Then on Friday, we went to the water authorities. I am sure you don’t have water authorities in many countries but this is a country with plenty of water management, and hence it is logical to have a separate authority for managing water. There is even a different election for this authority, and that election was Wednesday this week. I have no clue who won, but I went there casting my vote.
So we went to the water authorities for a consultancy. We got the advice to create a water cleaning system IBA3B together with neighbors. Doing things on our own makes it a lot easier, but significant advantages when doing it together with neighbors. Sharing the costs, improving the stability of the system, no need to have the filter at the center of the property. We will see how that plans out. Our plan on the water storage was not sufficient. It is funny that our plan was accepted by the municipality with the side not that we had to do to the water authority consultancy and they're the same person sitting in the committee at the municipality told us that our water storage was not good enough. We will change our plans and submit them for the water permit. Then the same guy can see our plan the third time.
Now I arrive in Amsterdam. The model today was Kaliope. She was from Greece, 19 years old. She studied philosophy. Beautiful model, painters happiness.
I did manage to capture her face good enough, but somehow her chest was distorted. I will try to paint her from another angle next week. That would be great.
The artists today were Irene, Chef, Lydia, Saskia and me. After the painting session, Saskia had to go for an appointment so we had to leave quickly. I just shuffled the brushes into my bag, I really hope I can remember to clean the brushes when I come home.
I did.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
