Farewell to autumn
Earlier this autumn, on October 22, I had made an aquarelle with maple leaf motive as part of a theme evening about autumn at Aquarelmere. That painting was received well and I really enjoyed the bright colors and the color transitions. Since then I have been looking if I could find more colored leafs to inspire me to make a painting.
In my garden I have a Grape Vine (Vitis vinifera) and it occurred to me that it actually had nicely colored leafs. On 5 November 2011 I decided to do a painting based on the vine leafs. Something playful just for fun.
I spread the leafs on the table and started painting. In my mind I had an idea of something sparkling with nice color transitions etcetera. It is possible to make fabulous transitions in oil paint but it takes slightly longer time than doing it with aquarelle. Hmm… I had not considered how much time I had to make this painting. How much time did I have?
Too little. Not enough time to make fabulous transitions anyway. So I had to make a new plan: Use bright colors and have fun. Along this new plan I dabbed on paint and had a great time.
With this painting I say farewell to the autumn for this year.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
