Pregnant model at the window
I made this painting in the early winter of 2010. The model was pregnant and she held her hand on her belly as many mothers do when they are pregnant. In the gallery the light was rigged in such way that it looked like she was lying on a sofa in a room in front of a window.
The atmosphere in the painting is nice but I am not satisfied with how I painted the model. I am not certain but I think this is an acrylic painting.
My idea of composition during this period was that I should paint the entire model. This had the consequence that I got the challenge of painting feet, arms legs and hands and on the same time the physical area for the head is smaller on the painting. With other words, I had many parts of the painting to finalize and each part in itself was more difficult to paint because they were smaller on the panel.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
