Still life painting of vegetables
Tonight Thursday, 9 January 2020, we had our first club gathering of the year at the aquarelle club Aquarelmere. Our regular room at the local community center had maintenance, so we were in another room. The light in the temporary room was a little more dimmed than we were used to.
The theme for tonight was vegetables. I had not prepared anything, but the others had brought with them different sorts of vegetables.
Hilde had planned to paint leek. Well, not only that, she wanted to paint leek in parts. She started by cutting that leek. After a while, we were deluged in a cloud of leek stench.
Petra had brought a lot of different vegetables, but she just took a photo of them and painted them from the photo. She offered me to borrow her vegetables. So I did. I took a carrot, a red onion, a tomato, and a cucumber. I arranged them so that there would arise broken lines. The light in the room was not fantastic, but the chairs were comfortable.
The artists tonight was Rita, Hilde, Hetty, Petra, Ina, Inga and me.
It is a simple painting. Not much to it. This is the kind of thing I would paint 6 or 7 years ago.
With this, the start of the season is done.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
