Hair fashion model, aquarelle
At an Aquarelmere painting evening 8 December 2011 I had decided to paint an aquarelle from a photo in a magazine about hair fashion. It was Hilde who brought this photo. The light in the photo was so interesting that I asked her if I could get it and also try to paint it too.
In many many paintings at some point I decide that “it is what it is” and it is a really good thing to stop messing around with a painting at some point. Here in this case I never got that feeling. I got many not so flattering comments about the painting already so I suppose publishing it in my blog is a daring act.
When I came home from the Aquarelmere evening I flushed off the painting with running water and started to put on a second layer of paint. It was not successful, at least not more successful than the first layer.
It is as if portrait and paintings of models are done right from a start or they are not done at all. I am not finished with this photo. At some point I will paint this again, from scratch.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
