Building a wood burned raku kiln |
Preparations for a raku kiln
At Sunnerås there is a retired manure place. It is a 5 by 5 metres big concrete box with a meter high wall except for on one side where the opening is. At the bottom there is a concrete floor but you cannot see it because there is a thin layer of earth where grass and stinging nettles are growing. This is a nice place for a wood burned raku kiln. Before I can build the kiln I need to clear the floor so it is possible to walk around freely. At some places in the box there are old forgotten things lying so it is not possible to drive around with a lawnmower, unless it is a really sturdy mower. Here I am using a grass trimmer instead.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
