Portrait of Elsie Luna

This is Elsie Luna. I don't know so much about Elsie. I painted her as part of the book Grace is writing, so you have to be patient, and when the book is finished, you can read about Elsie and her actions to save the world's climate, in that book.

Yesterday after work, I cooked a vegan meal. It is a broccoli curry that has become a standard dish in our weekly schedule. After finishing up, I decided to start painting.

Elsie is wearing glasses, and so am I. She looked through the top of the glasses in this picture, already that is a challenge. I have to say I am not painting people with glasses so often. I think I succeded with the glasses this time. Do you notice that you can see the side of her head in the glasses? My wife has the same optical effect in her glasses.

Elsie's hair was wet, and I think she had been out demonstrating for a long time when the picture was taken. The picture of her was not a typical Elsie, I don't think so. After painting her, I looked up other pictures, and there she looks different, or I found a sister or something because she had other glasses. This is a bit of a mystery.

So what I am perhaps saying is that it is not much likeness in my portrait, but I don't know.

I love her scarf. I think it is fantastic with the work she is doing. In my painting, I made her more colorful. I hope she is a colorful person.

I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.

Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
