JENS MALMGREN I create.

Hydrangea

I started to develop a skill for this kind of more dense flowers. At this point my painting started to drift away from the precise, specific and illustrative type of painting into painting with more speed and certain nonchalance. At this time I used to say to my colleagues at Aquarelmere that “fear is unproductive for the painter”. If you fear all sorts of things when you paint then you are held back. “What will people think“ is one of these fears. To cope with this a painter need to learn fear management. Put the fear where it belongs and paint without it.

I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.

Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
