Anna Katharina Frölich with a Goose, Aquarelle
Some images come to me in odd ways. Here is one of the best examples of this. In the magazine “Zeit Literature” number 48 from November 2010 there was an article about a female writer Anna Katharina Frölich. The photo was made by Hermann Dornhege.
So how do I get an image of Frau Frölich in a German magazine?
The Sunnerås cottage can be rent and this way many people from Sweden, Denmark and Germany has come to this house. The guests sometimes bring magazines and newspapers ending up in the scrap paper to use when lighting a fire in the fireplace.
I made up a fire in the fire place and grabbed a couple of old magazines and as it often happens you start read some of the articles or you look at the images. This is an unfocused way of reading a magazine because the main goal is to light a fire and not to read a paper. But it is nice too. My German is not so good so I looked at the pictures. And there she was, Anna Katharina. I have never heard of her. I suppose there are loads of skilled writers all over the world I never heard of so that is no news. She held a goose. To me it does not matter if she is a good writer because I liked the photo of her.
Have I told about my search for humans together with animals on the Internet before? This is actually an under-represented form of imagery on the Internet. You find animals and you find people but it is not so easy to find nice pictures of animals and people. I found out that the best way to find these is by searching for “Animal friendship” and voilà, out pops nice images of people and animals. Here on this photo is a nice animal and person image. I like it a lot. Well Hermann Dornhege, nice photo you made here!
So I tried to find more photos of Anna Katharina Frölich but that is not so easy. I am not satisfied with this painting. Her hair got longer in my painting and she got another face. The goose is the same though! I already painted her a couple of times but I don´t get that correct Anna Katharina feeling to it. I am working on it. In a couple of years I might be able to do it. This painting is the first painting of 2012. I made it on 3 January at Sunnerås.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
