Aquarellish oil painting - Sandrina |
Drawings from examples collection book
The more you learn the more you figure out that you don’t know enough. I had attended a course and several model sessions but I was still reading books about the subject. The course at de Kunstlinie had brought drawing to my attention again. Drawing is something I am doing every time I paint so drawing I am doing always but it is different when you are drawing to make a sketch compared to when you make a full drawing. It is convenient to draw because it is a dry medium. All wet mediums need more planning before you get a result. Many books about painting are saying that you should practice as often as you can and they recommend that you bring a sketch block with you and if you have a chance then make a drawing in the block.
I picked up a book with model sample images to practice drawing during my spring holiday. From the book “Modeltekenen voorbeelenboek, Gerard Mulder and Martin Thiel”, Publisher Cantecleer 1996.
In the book I noticed they made a frame inside the drawing. One of my colleagues at de Stoker used to make these when he is drawing portraits.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
