Kerosene stove
Here to the left there is a painting of a green kerosene stove. Many kerosene stoves are green surprisingly enough. Luckily the onion looks like onions. The special thing with this painting is that it is made from a set with a real stove and real onion and the items were lying on a cloth but the background is made up. When painting this still life I got the idea for the background before I started painting. It is very seldom that I paint things that I don’t have any picture of or actual view of. Overall I get a feeling that this picture is produced “too” quickly, and that is an unusual problem for me.
On this painting here to the right the wall tiles are more suggestive while the stove is more distinct so the stove attracts more attention. Also the cloth shows more understandable form and shape. The colors here are warmer than the previous painting. This is a pleasant image. On this painting the onions are the only thing that is the least convincing.
