An awful painting by any standard

This painting is really awful by any standard. One person asked me: Is it a helicopter flying behind the tree? And the tree what sort is it because it has some really straight branches? And that gray heap in the hedge what is that?

It is not a helicopter; it is supposed to be a magpie. The heap in the hedge is a cat glaring at the magpie.

For years after I made this painting when you least expected it one of these “helicopters” would land in the tree. What is walking in the garden? A “heap”!
