Photos of paintings
A photo of an image always looks nicer than the real painting. This has to do with how clever the JPEG algorithm is made. There appears more contrast in the photo compared with the real painting. It is actually a good idea to take a photo of the paintings and compare them. The images I show here on this blog are taken with a compact camera on a tripod outside. I take the photos outside because there is better light there. The drawback of this method is that sometimes the light condition of a specific weather type changes the color of the photo. I need to manipulate the colors and the contrast before publishing the images. Until recently this meant I had to open each image in a painting program and carry out the operations. Now there is a free tool from Google, Picasa, handling this really quickly. When I discovered that Picasa also makes it possible to upload the images to the blog with the click of a button I was utterly impressed.
I moved from Sweden to The Netherlands in 1995.
Here on this site, you find my creations because that is what I do. I create.
